The Resort’s history is tied to the local area’s roots as a waypoint during the early stage
coach line connecting California to the rest of the nation, and later the railroads. In 1884,
the Resort was comprised of just one three-story hotel serving the growing traffic
provided by the construction of the local railroad station eight years earlier. The first
cherry trees were also planted on resort land, eventually leading to the surrounding
town being named Cherry Valley.
Fred and William Hirsch purchased the property in 1927 and developed it into a health
resort. Nutrition, skin care and overall wellness became ingrained
in a unique culture that
has continued to evolve to this very day. When the land changed hands again in 1948, Highland Springs became a popular family vacation getaway.
Over the years Highland Springs developed into a venue for conferences and corporate training, all the while focusing on preserving nature and promoting health. Our diversity
of organic crops and innovative methods of maintaining the balance with our
environment are gradually paving the way to healthier, more fulfilling lifestyles
for everyone who visits us. GO TO THE RESORT WEBSITE: WWW.HSRESORT.COM
