Centered around the Organic Galleries, Sheep Shearing Weekends offers a limited number of sheep and wool related activities including various crafts, hands-on experiences in wool processing and lamb-themed dishes from the Eatery.

Sheep Feeding

A farmer will guide you to harvest your own olive branches to feed our sheep. Please note the sheep field is about a 15-20 minute walk on uneven terrain and is not wheelchair accessible. This activity may not be ideal for guests who have difficulty walking.

Sheep Herding Demonstration
Time: 11 pm & 2 pm (March 19 & 20)
Cost: Free
This demonstration will show the human/dog partnership and its value on a working sheep farm. A live simulation of a sheep herding competition will be presented. Come and see dogs at all levels of training as they help their human handlers with the livestock. The demonstration takes place on the farm next to the 1000-year-old oak tree. Please be prepared to walk about 10 minutes to the field from the main festival grounds.

Dana Rochat is an all-breed herding trainer and breeder of Australian Cattle Dogs. She has travelled throughout the U.S. the past 10 years to dog show competitions with her heelers. Dana is now training and giving lessons in Cherry Valley at the neighboring Oaks Ranch. Dana will be demonstrating how she uses her Australian herding dogs, to work her sheep in the sheep shearing pen.

With a health-focused and family-centered theme, the festivals and events hosted at 123 Farm (located at Highland Springs Ranch & Inn) is a relaxing weekend getaway. With the fresh air and tall trees that shade the property, we invite you to come taste our food made from scratch and learn about the history of the ranch.

Sourdough Bread Festival

Sample many different types of fermented food and drinks and learn about the health benefits they possess. Taste organic sourdough bread, kimchi and local crafts beers. Fermentation workshops and more!

Join us as we celebrate the blooming of our organic lavender. Stroll through 20 acres of lavender, taste lavender-infused food, drinks and desserts. Shop our lavender-themed marketplace and ride a wagon tour of the grounds.
